How to Hide Whatsapp Photos and Videos from Gallery


Whatsapp is a messaging service that we also use for sharing photos, videos and audio on and all that shows up in our phone’s gallery and music player. And let’s face it! Most of the pictures and videos that we receive on whatsapp aren’t really the types we would prefer to have on our phone’s Gallery.
You know, people do send  ‘Good morning’ image every day. And you don’t want ‘Good morning’ images and other images that are good to see for only one time to show up in your Gallery!
So deleting those images and videos is one option to get rid of them from your Gallery. But since that would be time consuming and hence not worth the effort, a better solution would be to stop whatsapp photos and videos from showing up in your phone’s gallery. So below are steps to hide the images from your phone’s gallery.
Hide Whatsapp Images from iPhone Gallery
Firstly we will see how to hide Whatsapp images and videos from iPhone’s gallery. So, if you have an iPhone with Whatsapp on it then follow these steps to make it work for your phone too.
  • First, go to Settings in whatsapp.
  • After that, tap on chat settings and then you will have different options simply you need to look for save incoming media and ones you find it then toggle it off.
  • Now your all Whatsapp photos will not be stored in gallery.
Hide Whatsapp Images and Videos from Android Gallery
So, these steps are for the Android users. If you are an Android users and want to hide Whatsapp images and videos from your Android phone’s gallery then follow these steps:
  • First of all, Download any File Manager app on your Android phone which is required for this process. I would recommend you to download ES File Explorer. Download Here.
  • Ones it is installed on your phone. You need to launch it and then go to SD Card under Home section and then tap on Whatsapp and after that tap on Media.
  • Now tap Whatsapp images (Similarly you can go for Whatsapp videos and audios).
  • Tab on + icon shown in the bottom left of file manager and you will see a screen
  • Create a new file and name it as “.nomedia”.
  • You are done. Now open your gallery and you will see all Whatsapp images have been vanished.
